Music Line-up

18:00 – 19:00 | Jewels and the Jacuzzis

Jewels & the Jacuzzis are a local, dynamic 5-piece band delivering a fresh, upbeat mix of soulful reggae, ska, blues, disco, and tropical vibes. Fronted by singer-guitarist Jewels Vass, they perform a vibrant blend of originals and covers, bringing infectious energy to every show.

19:00 – 21:00 | Selina and the Howlin Dogs

Selina and the Howlin Dogs are a Reading-based upbeat, funky blues rock with a MODERN feel. This local award-winning band are regularly played out on global blues/rock radio stations, on Radio 6, BBC Introducing as well as countless music festivals and clubs such as Marvellous Festival, Wokingham Festival and The Harlington, Mr Wolf’s and The Ram Jam Club.

Their debut album hit the IBBA top 40 album playlist in 2022 resulting in opening for Geno Washington and the Ram Jam band, Dr Feelgood and Emma Wilson Band. The “Live at The Harlington” release won Live Album of the Year 2022 by Docs Blues Awards on Severn FM which resulted in being aired across 20+ blues radio stations/shows in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium and the US. You’ll also find their albums in HMV Reading!

21:00 – 22:00 | Ma Bessie

Julia aka Ma Bessie performs Jazz and Blues, celebrating the music of Bessie Smith and her contemporaries. With sell-out performances across the Thames Valley and a growing reputation for her intimate audience-focused performances, Julia Titus can help to add some style, class and excitement to any event, club or festival.

Her Blues repertoire includes classics such as ‘Careless Love’, ‘Hound Dog’, ‘Ain’t Nobody’s Business’, ‘Do Your Duty’, ‘Summertime’, ‘Sugar in my bowl’ and many more while her reggae repertoire includes her own original material ‘All About You’, ‘Suffer’ alongside classic tracks including ‘Please Don’t Make Me Cry’, ‘Sweet Sensation’, ‘Hear My Cry’ and ‘One Love’.

22:00 – 11:45 | Gold Dust Radio (DJ Set)

Gold Dust was formed in 2005 and grew from a one-off party night which rejuvenated the Soul scene for an over 25s crowd in Reading. These club nights were a huge hit from the start attracting mature clientele from mainly the South of the UK as well as established DJs and live personal appearances from well-known artists on the UK Soul and RnB scene which enhanced the reputation of these nights.

The Gold Dust party generated a unique ‘party’ atmosphere that set it aside from an ordinary club night and was aptly described as a ‘the ultimate soul reunion’ due to it being hosted only 2-3 times per year. In 2013 Gold Dust Radio was added to the brand offering a community Reading-based internet station to extend the experience and to connect to the loyal increasing following.
